Only Believe

"And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house."
Acts 16:30-31, KJV

"While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue's house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further?
As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe."
Mark 5:35-36, KJV

"Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things a possible to him that believeth.
And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief."
Mark 9:23-24, KJV

I am NOT ashamed

Reading those bible verses just inspires me and causes me to take pause and think about Christians and Christianity today.

How many of us can truly say, as Christians, we are not ashamed? How many of us can say that we are not ashamed when we suffer things because we are Christians? That's when it's really difficult. Paul was thrown in prison and yet he declared he was not ashamed. Most of us won't even take a dirty look from somebody for taking a stand against mainstream popular opinions.

The thing is that it's not about you and never has been. It's about HIM. Don't be ashamed if you know in WHOM you have believed and that HE IS ABLE. Through Him all things are possible. "...If God be for us, who can be against us?" (Romans 8:31)
